REGIME: North Korea resumes missile testing …

North Korea resumes missile testing with first launches of the year Dan Carter – GEO´ Newsdesk Team City of London Newsroom North Korea has resumed missile tests in the first such launches of 2020. South Korea´s Military have said that two unidentified missiles were launched from the North’s east coast towards the Sea of Japan, also known as the East Sea. These are the first such tests since NK resumed testing last May [2019] after an 18-month cessation, of course many more followed as the year went on, in fact the last time North Korea conducted a missile test was back in November last year [2019] when it announced that it was testing a “super-large multiple-rocket launcher”. North Korea has historically stepped up missile testing in the spring for apparent tactical or strategic reason. North Korean leader Kim Jong-un announced in early 2020 that he was unilaterally ending the suspension of nuclear and long-range missile tests, as talks between the US and North Korea, yet again, ground to a halt. This despite the “bromance” which appeared to be blossoming between the NK leader and US President, Donald Trump.
The North Korean leader threatened that the world would “witness a new strategic weapon… in the near future”.
Interestingly, the latest tests come just days after South Korea and the US announced they were postponing annual joint drills over concerns about the coronavirus [Covid 19] Image Credit: Argus News Group/Stock under CC Video Credit: Pacific Air Forces Public Affairs
